Tavistock Ladies 3
Liskeard Ladies 0
WIH both hockey teams sat high in the league it was going to be a good game. Tavistock went on the early attack and Sue Gawman and Steph Mills played cracking shots into the D. The Liskeard defence were under major attack as Laura Armstrong and Jo Gaspar were everywhere in the D.
Susannah Boulle and Laura Stapleton marked key players and distributed the ball well. Fiona Dunn put in some timely tackles and despite the opposition trying to enter the D, Dunn and Babs Horton took the ball from them every time.
Emma White worked well on the forward line and it was not long before Gawman scored the first goal. She drove the ball in and took a hefty strike from an awkward angle.
A penalty flick was awarded to Tavistock as the keeper came out and smothered the ball from Armstrong. Boulle took the flick and put it past the keeper effortlessly.
For the first ten minutes of the second half, Tavistock seemed to lose their concentration and it looked as if Liskeard were going to make some strong attacks.
Sandra Collar picked up some roaming players and the odd time they entered the D, keeper, Zoe Viggers, cleared any danger. The final goal came from Boulle as she drove the ball up the pitch, crossed it to White to it strike past the keeper.
