A BIRTHDAY surprise party was held for Tavistock’s nonagenarian Graham Kirkpatrick recently.
Graham, who is a dedicated volunteer at Tavistock Museum, opened the doors to the museum on Sunday, September 11 to begin his stewarding duties but found it had been decorated with balloons and bunting, there was music playing, a range of food and drink, and lots of people cheering.
Graham, who has been a stalwart of both the museum and Tavistock Subscription Library, was congratulated by his many friends on achieving the age of 90 (September 12) and thanked for his long and loyal service to both organisations.
Graham said that the party had been a complete surprise to him, but nevertheless a pleasant surprise and he thanked everyone for coming. Also his special thanks to Sarah Smith, the museum’s youngest volunteer, who organised the party.
