SUPPORTERS of local charity Vocal Advocacy took part in their first sponsored swim.
The swimmers of all ages plunged into Meadowlands Pool in Tavistock, challenging themselves and raising money in support of the charity.
Vocal Advocacy is a small charity established in 1993 which provides advocacy for people with learning disabilities in West Devon, Torbay, Teignbridge and South Hams. The service is provided by a small team of advocates, some of which are volunteers, all working hard to meet the increasing demand and is constantly seeking additional funds to enable the service to continue and expand.
Catherine Mundy, Vocal’s manager, said: ‘Many thanks to Nick and the team at Meadowlands and to Theresa Hooper who organised this event on Vocal’s behalf.
‘It is amazing that this event has raised over £1,000 and donations are still coming in. The money raised will help us to provide much needed advocacy services for local people.’
