I AM writing to ask people to support a truly inspirational man who is about to undertake a superhuman feat of endurance for charity.

Chris Moon, who lost his right arm and leg in a landmine explosion, is going to walk two marathons a day for 25 consecutive days, along the entire length of the country to raise £1-million for disability charity Leonard Cheshire, of which I am a keen supporter.

Called ?One Walk?, Chris?s challenge will see him cover a total of 1,284 miles starting June 5 in John o?Groats and ending June 29 in Land?s End and he will be passing through this area en route.

I want to see Chris reach his goal and he could use all the support he can get. I?m showing my support for Chris by donating a shoe to the One Walk celebrity-shoe auction at http://www.ebay.com">www.ebay.com to help reach his sponsorship target.

I would also like to make a direct appeal to readers to support Chris by making a donation. You can do this by visiting http://www.onewalk.org.uk">www.onewalk.org.uk or call 08444 41 11 11.

Thanks.
