THE Friends of All Saints Parish Church in Okehampton enjoyed a successful and well supported evening for the Two Moors Festival. The Aronowitz Ensemble and Yvonne Howard were in superb musical form in entertaining the audience. David Vick, secretary of the friends, said: ?Their excellent performance was enjoyed by some 140 in attendance, many of whom also complimented the unique acoustics of this fine 19th century church. The church has been tastefully and thoughtfully updated to 21st century usefulness, providing a welcoming homeliness with a superb supper provided by the friends afterwards.? On Wednesday, November 28, at 7.30pm in All Saints there will be a concert by the Dartington (North Devon) Trust Young Musicians Support Gaudeamus Chamber Orchestra. This distinguished orchestra from Latvia, conducted by Guntars Bernats, will be performing items from Vivaldi?s concerto for Two Violins, Mozart, Bach and Grieg. The concert is sponsored by Waitrose supermarket and Okehampton Educational Foundation. Tickets are £8, £7 concessions, and free entry for U19s.
