Okehampton Columbines I 6 Falmouth 1 FALMOUTH were unable to field a full side and Okehampton dominated from the start. Little got past Claire Smith at right half and she had an excellent game, continuously pushing forward to attack. She and Jo Stephens at right wing played some good hockey to link well and put the defence under pressure. Columbines had a number of short corners but their first goal came when the ball fell to Grace Thorpe who hit it first time for the opener. Alex Collins found a way past the Falmouth goalie for Okehampton?s second. Claire Smith got Columbine?s third with a well struck shot just before half-time. The second half saw Caroline Friend and Abbey Colton join the attack and create several chances. Okehampton?s fourth came when the ball was forced across the line. Smith scored again with another fine strike and Viv Weatherington scored the sixth when she deflected in a cross from Collins. Falmouth scored a consolation goal in the last few minutes. This week Okehampton travel to Truro to play Camborne.
