ISCA B 6

Tavistock 7

A TYPICAL end of season clash was the order of the day when Tavistock men's hockey team played the young and skilful Isca.

Tavistock opened the scoring with a penalty by Jefferies after a foot deflected the initial shot by Honey.

Tavistock looked settled but it was not long before the home side equalised then took the lead after some swift breaks from the back.

Tavistock extended their lead by two goals but could not hold onto it, when the energetic Isca just would not give up.

With further goals by Bellard, 'new boy' Lovell and Edwards the match seemed to be swinging Tavistock's way.

The score was again level when the tiredness began to show but in the dying minutes Tavistock clinched the match with their seventh goal and concluded their most successful season for many years.

The club extended thanks to all sponsors this season, for their kind assistance, especially The Rock Inn, Whitchurch Inn and Ordulph Arms.
