MORE than 20 junior players from Tavistock and surrounding area scored a resounding success when representing the Total Soccer Umbro School in the footballing hotbed of Manchester.
Players from 9 to 16 years, who attend the Total Soccer School, played against one of the country's leading sports colleges and every team won their match against quality opposition.
Players from all of Total Soccer's classes in Plymouth, Barnstaple, St Austell, Newton Abbot, Tavistock and Exeter joined the 180 people travelling to Manchester which included a tour of Old Trafford and the Manchester United trophy room afterwards.
Director of coaching Trevor Worth said: 'We were delighted with the performance of all the players and several Premiership scouts invited by me to watch the matches have asked for nine of our players to return.
'This will now become an annual trip and anyone who wants to experience 'Total soccer' with us can join for our Umbro Summer Camp in Tavistock in July/August. In particular, the boys from Bere Alston under 15s distinguished themselves against players who are signed to Man Utd,Man City, Blackburn and Leeds.'
