Tavistock Town U14s 7
Looe U14s 3
TAVISTOCK produced a good, more mature performance to record their biggest win of the season. With less than five minutes gone Coulston put them ahead following an early cross from Hammond. Looe bounced back, continued to make dangerous breaks. But Lyle, a threat down the left and Doyle, using his pace on the right, posed difficulties for the Looe defence.
Following a McCall cross Doyle fired in his first goal and was denied a second by a great save.
As half-time approached Town's defence got caught and Looe pulled a goal back. There was a swift reply with Doyle's cross being well headed by Lyle to make the score 3 -1.
Bray came on as centre back after half-time. Tavistock resumed their attacks with all departments linking well and Smith firing a strong shot from outside the box.
Despite increased pressure on the Looe keeper, it was Looe who scored to make it 3- 2. This was the beginning of a frantic few minutes that saw Doyle score his second with a great shot from just inside the area.
Coulston made it 5-2 before Looe scored straight from the kick-off to make it 5 -3. Early accurate passing between midfield and attack resulted in Lyle scoring his second and Fazakerly came on as substitute.
Towards the end of play a Looe player was sent off after a series of late, dangerous tackles. McCall hit the bar from distance after which Lyle was brought down and Coulston scored a penalty to claim his hat trick.
Man of the match : Keiron Lyle. Manager's man of the match: Bill Coulston.
Tavistock Town U13s 2
Plympton U13s 2
NO matter how hard they tried Tavistock just could not find the net in the first half and went in one goal down.
Jordan Williams, Sean Cleave and others went close many times, hit the post and bar and even had a penalty saved. Great midfield play from Mike Morgan and the busy James Follett and David Smyly kept Plympton locked in their own half.
Good runs down the wings by Ross Leggett and Luke Stephenson stretched the Plympton defence but still the goals would not come.
In the second half and after an awful start that found Tavistock 2-0 down they gambled on playing three at the back. This kept Steve Law and Ollie Payne busy when Plympton broke on the counter attack.
Goalkeeper Karl Griffiths had to be brave on a couple of occasions to keep the score down. Then with another corner and penalty area confusion the ball arrived at Follett for him to half volley it into the net.
This gave Tavistock belief again and continuous pressure and the speed of Daniel Adams was a constant threat. After another penalty area scramble Adams saw his opportunity and scored to make it 2-2.
Great defensive play by Scott Pluckrose and Paul Waddle and sheer bravery from Luke Wakley stemmed the Plympton threat.
