Bookings are now being taken for Westden?s summer holiday activity days. Among the activities on offer are a local food cookery day, a trip to Dartmoor and a celebration of India with food, puppets and music. There will also be a ?woolly crafts? day with felt making, weaving and spinning, a ?cooking from the past? day, and magical masks and storytelling. Westden is also introducing two days specifically for families. The first will be a herbal safari to learn about everyday plants for eating, medicine and other uses. The second is called ?cooking for the climate?. People will be making solar ovens and hay boxes and people can have a go at cooking with them. Bookings with Westden should be made by phoning 0845 345 5077, as places are limited. The activity days are for children aged 8 to 11 and aim to provide fun activities for local children and childcare for parents during the school holidays, within the Tavistock area. They cost £16.50 per child with an extra £2.50 for ingredients on the cookery days. The family days cost £16.50 for one adult and up to two children. Children of all ages are welcome on the family days but must be accompanied by an adult.
