FINE weather drew more than 1,000 people to the Rotary Club of Yelverton's summer fete.

The event raised more than £1,250 for charitable work, all of which will be used in the local community.

Rotary Club president Mick Booth (pictured) presented a cheque for £350 to Mrs Rachel Northey, conductor of the Stannary Brass Training Band who entertained the crowds at the fete — the cash will enable the band to buy a new cornet.

The Rotary Club expressed thanks to all the stallholders, main ring participants, local organisations and businesses, sponsors and helpers for their support.
