FRIENDS of Okehampton Hospital are ?delighted? with the amount raised from this year?s flag day. A total of £589 was raised ? an improvement from last year?s result of £436. Chairman of the friends, Martin Perry, said he was delighted that the public has responded so generously. ?We are currently looking into the acquisition of a blood monitor which will avoid the delay of sending blood samples to the Wonford at Exeter,? said Mr Perry. ?The more facilities we have locally the better, and lessening a delay could help both medically and will mean patients do not have to endure the stressful time waiting for results.? Even though the Friends are on their way to funding this development after several generous donations, Mr Perry added that more members and active supporters are needed. If anyone can help contact Mr Perry on 01409 221376.
