THE annual Fairhaven Grass Keep Sale at Whiddon Down for Mr and Mrs C F Scott by Rendells of Chagford last Thursday once again set the marker for other sales in the area, with a top price of £285 an acre for the largest lot of the night at 14.23 acres, and an average of £232 per acre.

Although the lack of grass was evident here as everywhere else, its attraction is that it is well managed, fertilised, fenced and watered, with good road access — and that attracts buyers back each year.
