OKEHAMPTON and District Duke of Edinburgh's Award committee held their inaugural coffee morning in The Inspiration Centre on Saturday March 24, at which used tents and waterproof clothing were on sale. There were also Easter-themed competitions and cakes for sale. Lewis Parker correctly guessed the name of the Easter Rabbit and Alison Roundesley guessed how many Easter eggs were in the jar. Thanks to the hard work of Sarah Harvey, Della Ball and Brenda Bourne, the morning raised a total of almost £100, which will go towards the running expenses for the Award in Okehampton. The committee still has two second-hand Vango Beta tents for sale, as well as a EuroHike 3 man tent and a number of Craig Hopper waterproof jackets and trousers.
