As a club including the seniors they came sixth overall, out of 10 clubs, with the U13 girls' team doing particularly well coming second overall in their age category.
33 girls and 13 boys from Tavistock AC attended the competition totalling 46 juniors who participated in the Devon Sports hall league which were all situated in Dawlish.
Overall the club came fifth out of 12 teams. It had two top threes in the team age categories with the U10 girls coming third and the U13 boys also third. There were also medals for the overall top three athletes in each event. Ellie Drage came second in the chest push and the sitting throw, and third in the vertical jump; Sarah Davies, second in the soft javelin; Tessa Young, second in the vertical jump; George White, third in the one lap hurdles and the balance test; Dean Smith, a third in the six laps and a second in the shot put; Callum Mackellar, third in the shot put.
2007/08 was a good cross-country season for Tavistock AC juniors. The endurance group look forward to the Westward league competitions — a series of six races against clubs from all over Devon and Cornwall.
27 of Tavistock AC juniors took part over the season with superb results. Nick Champion, Claire Fraser and Tom Lawson all made their mark, winning and being placed in their first race and others including Sammy Fraser, Rebecca Windermer, Sarah Hornby, Ben Brown, Matt McNamara-Waddington, Owen Drage and Sam Eaton bringing home good club points.
As the season went on the good results continued with contributions from Emma Champion, Annabel Longden, Miles Eastaugh, Sam Lloyd, Laura Aspen, Harry Eaton, Ralph Lawson and Seth McNamara-Waddington. Half way through the season they were joined Okehampton's Tom Gill, Will Sharp, George Speak and Matt Harding.
The season ended with a number of good wins and many qualifications to run in county vests at the national cross-country championships in Nottingham. Nick Champion won the county championships and was third overall in the Westward League. Claire Fraser won the individual gold for Westward League and the U13 girls' team were overall winners; she was also third in the South West championships and in the county team. Sarah Hornby was a member of the U13 girls' team at the South West championships and Westward League. Tom Lawson was in the county team at the South West championships. Rebecca Windermer came second in the county championships and second overall in the U15 girls' Westward League.
