TAVISTOCK Mixed Hockey Teams had a good season this Summer with both the Pumas and the Tigers having considerable success on the pitch. The Pumas are in Division 1 where the competition is high and the standard of the game is fast and strong. The Pumas had many successes and won 8 matches, drew 1 and lost 3 of the twelve games played. The Pumas finished in a close 2nd position in the league narrowly missing promotion by only 3 points. Notable performances came from Tom Honey, Dom Lovett and Robynne Honey with John Barratt and Chris Wilson also contributing greatly to the team. Thanks must go to Martin Ozbourne who ended up playing in goal for the Pumas for their last four matches. Martin was also the goalkeeper for the Tigers and so was a busy man! The Pumas would also like to thank the umpires Shane Lovett and Joe Raeburn for giving up their time to umpire their matches. The Tigers did not fare as well as the Pumas although they have just been promoted from last summer and so they did well to finish 4th overall in their league. Notable performances came from Adam Holland, Neil Kelly, Kate Eadie and Nick Andrews. The Tigers is a good developing team with lots of strength which will show next year in the matches. Thanks must go to Phil Honey, Phil Edwards for umpiring the matches.
