A FOUR-piece indie rock outfit from Tavistock have reached the London, South East and South West finals of the 'Live and Unsigned' competition — only one stage away from the finals at the O2 arena.
Out of 10,000 entrants, the boys of Lontanos are now one of the acts selected to represent the south west.
'Live and Unsigned' is the UK's biggest music competition for original bands and singers.
Lontanos impressed the judges with their own 'Crazy Piano Song' and a cover of a song by 'Arcade fire'.
The judges were looking for originality and passion, technical ability and a talent to connect with the audience — all of which Lontanos offered with plenty to spare.
In a close fought regional final in Cheltenham at the end of last month, against stiff competition and in front of the judging panel of radio DJs, Lontanos took one of the six places to go through.
They now perform at the Beck Theatre in London on on May 2. It will be a tense time but the four band members, two aged 18, one 17 and one 16 and all students at Tavistock College, are keeping their fingers crossed they can progress to the final round of the competition.
Lontanos, who formed three years ago, are Sam Brockington on vocals and bass, Ollie Larcombe-Moore, (guitar, vocals), Cameron Nico (keyboard) and drummer Jack Hughes.
