A ONE-DAY golfing event at Yelverton Golf Club organised by students at the Duchy College in Stoke Climsland raised £536 for Cancer Research.
The second-year golf students who organised the event invited guests, including past students and parents.
Duchy College Golf Society?s student chairman Adam Isaac described the day as ?fantastic?. He said a joint decision by the whole golf studies group led to them using the day ? part of the practical element of their course work ? to raise money for the cancer charity. Prizes were presented during an evening in which students provided musical entertainment.
Duchy College programme manager Andy Rosser thanked Yelverton Golf Club for their co-operation and donation. Prizes and items for auction totalling £850 were also donated by Sue Pearman, West Region professional Barry Austin, Teign Valley Golf Club and Mike Horton, a Tiverton-based professional golfer.
