IN mid-September Tavistock College took a group of students of mainly year 10s and some year 12s to the prestigious University of Cambridge.
The trip was to introduce students to the University courses, life and application processes.
During the two days, the students experienced relaxing, sleeping and dining in one of the most famous institutions, Downing College.
A college spokesperson said:?'This was a fantastic experience as it gave pupils a flavour of student life, even though ball games were strictly prohibited on the beautiful lawns!
'Upon arrival, a punting trip on the River Cam provided a great view of many of the spectacular college buildings, one of which inspired the design for the Whitehouse.
'As well as touring the city and colleges, students were given a lot of relevant information on university applications and advice for their future.
'Overall, the trip not only gave students an experience of one of the top academic institutions in the world, but also provided much information about higher education.
'The Cambridge trip really helped me consider what I could do after Tavistock, and many questions were answered concerning courses, costs and applying.
'Thank you to the staff and the Downing College liaison officer who organised a thoroughly enjoyable trip.'
