TWO Tavistock College students have helped Somerfield raise £1,256 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The supermarket has been raising money for the charity for the past year. At the start of the summer holidays, students Hannah Feakins and Violet Taylor, 15, asked the manager if they could assist in their fundraising. As a result, the two started selling raffle tickets to customers at £1 each, from 9am to 6pm on the days there were there, helping raise the magnificent total. Customers were delighted to see young people so happy to be volunteering their time for the charity. Somerfield provided the raffle?s first prize of a flight for two in their hot air balloon at the West Country Balloon Fiesta. They thanked the students for being such a great help. l Pictured are Hannah, left, and Violet Taylor, at the store.
