FANTASY author Joseph Delaney paid a visit to Tavistock College recently, where students heard him speak about his latest novel.
The visit made up part of the author's tour of the country, promoting the latest instalment in his 'Wardstone Chronicles' series 'The Spook's Blood'.
The first novel in this series is also currently being made into a film, starring Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.
Tavistock College librarian Kathy Worrall said: 'The "Spooks" series is set in an imaginary, almost medieval style world whose human inhabitants live alongside ghosts, boggarts, witches and everything that goes bump in the night.
'The students listening attentively to his exciting talk were gripped. I know walking in the dark will no longer hold any appeal for me!'
Year 7 pupil Siobhan said: 'Meeting Joseph Delaney was a really good experience for me.
'I thought it would be fun and it was. I would like to meet other authors in the future because Joseph was really nice and gave some good advice about writing.'
Fellow year 7 student Travis said: 'It was good to learn about the creatures and books he's going to bring out next. I can't wait for the film and more books!'
