STUDENTS at Tavistock College took part in a Bikeability course recently.

The course is focused on cycling proficiency for the 21st century and is funded by the Department for Transport in partnership with Devon County Council. It is designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride bikes on today's roads.

Nineteen Year 8 and 9 students took part in the two-day intensive course and were assessed on whether they had attained the required level of competence.

All the students who took part will receive certificates and advice regarding their skills and have the opportunity to take part in the advanced level 3 course at the college later in the year.
