TAVISTOCK firefighters were called to Canal Road last Friday after a car crashed into scaffolding at Tavistock Library just after 2.30pm. The scaffolding was put in place while work was being carried out on the building. The building was affected by the crash so the firefighters checked no-one was trapped and made sure the area was safe. They put a 6ft safety barrier inside the building in case the wall was damaged. One young boy was knocked off his bike and taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
