THE annual show of the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club was held at Monkswell, Plaisterdown, recently. This year?s event attracted more than 250 entrants from a radius of 50 miles, and in some classes the competition was very strong. The show pony classes, also the gymkhana events pertaining to Pony Club members, proved to be very exciting. Many visitors from other pony clubs, expressed their appreciation to the committee and all the helpers during and after the event. The committee wished also to thank especially the farmer for allowing the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club to use his land. In the show jumping and working hunters classes again the competition was very strong, with the results showing many surprises. The dressage and handling classes were well attended with a very high standard of dress and turnout of horses, ponies and riders which was a joy to behold.
