WITH some players away for the half-term holidays, Okehampton faced Sidmouth with only ten men. But after an inspiring team talk and change of formation, they played a composed and disciplined first 20 minutes.
Some excellent saves from Mortimore in goal prevented Sidmouth from scoring, but eventually their number 7 found a way through.
A switch of position for Evans and Eddy helped Okehampton regain control at the back. The score stood at 5-0 at half-time.
Sidmouth came out strongly for the second half, but Okehampton contained them for a time and created good opportunities, Monnox being effective on the left wing. Yelland put in a committed performance at the front and Okehampton came close on a few occasions.
But Sidmouth?s strength won out.

APPLEDORE opened the scoring after just a few minutes with a quality goal.
It was apparent the small pitch would generate more goals than usual and when Okehampton created several chances but could not score it looked as if the home advantage would be a major factor.
Wayne Atherton broke the lean spell when he ran through the defence to shoot and make it 1-1.
Goals came regularly through skilful play and teamwork.
Atherton went on to score a hat-trick, as did Rory Honeychurch, who added a fourth with a header from Carl Poynton?s long throw.
The final goal came after a long run and shot by Chris Holland.
