Plymouth Parkway 2
Tavistock AFC 5
THE Lambs visited Parkway and came away comfortable winners. The game started at a tremendous pace with both sides producing some great football.
It was the Lambs that took the lead when Adam Carter was brought down by Parkway keeper Ben Elphick in the penalty area, after being put through by Lee Blatchford. The keeper was fortunate to only received a yellow card however, Will Stringer calmly converted the spot kick. Parkway then produced some fine football and equalised, when the ever alert Andy Sargent scored with a fine flick header, which flew past the visitors keeper Andy Meeds.
The home side took the lead five minutes later when from a corner kick the ball eventually found its way to Sargent who slotted the ball home.
The Lambs responded well and really took the game to Parkway and it was no surprise that they equalised before the interval. Lee Blatchford hit a tremendous through ball which found Carter just outside the area, who controlled the ball magnificently, beat his marker, then rounded the home keeper and slotted the ball home from 10 yards. A goal of pure class.
Ten minutes into the second half the Lambs took the lead when Carter was again brought down in the penalty by Elphick. Will Stinger netted his second spot kick of the evening.
The visitors increased their lead when will shot from Will Stringer was deflected into the goal by Adam Carter.
The Lambs sealed a great win when they were awarded another penalty when a forward was brought down in the box. Stringer once again put the spot kick away with aplomb— a hat trick of penalty kicks.
The second half performance of the Lambs was tremendous, and it was probably one of their finest of the season.
Tavistock AFC 3
Elburton Villa 0
THE Lambs kept up their fine form by comfortably defeating visiting Villa on a lovely sunny afternoon. This victory keeps them in contention with the top two in the league table.
It took only three minutes for Tavy to open their account, when Mark Conday latched onto a through ball from Glyn Hobbs, and fired home at the second attempt, after his initial effort was blocked by Simon May the Elburton keeper.
The Lambs continued to dominate and should have increased their lead before the interval. Efforts from Hobbs, Conday and Maddison were kept out by Simon May. Resolute defending by the visiting defence saw the home team with only a single goal lead at half time.
Ten minutes into the second half the Lambs increased their lead when a Shane Krac corner kick, was headed forward by Will Stringer and Mark Conday cleverly diverted the ball into the net past May from close range. Little was seen of Elburton as an attacking force, and it was not long before the home side got a third goal when Mark Conday completed his hat trick. A great through ball from Maddison was intercepted by May outside his penalty area, only for Conday to dispossess the keeper and slot the ball home from 20 yards.
This was another sound performance by the Lambs, with the man of the match awarded to Mark Conday. This win sees the Lambs maintain third place, close on the heals of Bodmin in second, with only one point dividing the teams.
