IN the South West Devon constituency, which includes Yelverton and Buckland Monachorum, Conservative Gary Streeter will be defending a majority of 7,144 over Labour. Mr Streeter is the shadow secretary of state for international development and has been an MP since 1992. He faces the same Labour opponent as he did in 2001, Christopher Mavin, who is chief whip of the Labour Group on Plymouth City Council.. Fighting the seat for the Liberal Democrats for the first time is Judy Evans, a plastic surgeon, who lives at Dousland. And there is an Independent candidate, Ian Dougall.
