A STREET market is being held in Chagford on Saturday to aid Cancer Research UK. In addition to the market, which runs in the town square from 9am to noon, there will be a coffee morning from 10am to noon at Endacott House, organised by the Women?s Royal British Legion. There will also be a jumble sale in the Jubilee Hall beginning at 2.30pm, where the draw for the raffle will take place.
The local group are always looking for new helpers to join the team supporting the annual event, Vanessa Garrett on 01647 433396 would like to hear from anyone with a few hours to spare or a longer term interest in helping the group.
l CHAGFORD Art Group will be staging its annual exhibition in the town?s Jubilee Hall next week.
The exhibition will open daily from 10am-5pm from Tuesday, August 10 until Saturday, August 14. Artists will be present each day to greet visitor.
The group has been meeting regularly for more than 20 years and gained an international reputation.
The group includes artists from South Zeal, Sticklepath and Addiscott, who come together to exchange ideas and encourage each other.
