THE Christmas street collection by Okehampton and District Lions Club this year topped £1,000.
The collection raised a magnificent total of £1,072.60p.
The Lions also held a Christmas bingo at the Conservative Club on December 19, which made a profit of £185 and will be combined with the street collection money to support local charities.
The Lions would like to say a big thank you to all those who supported these events and thanks are once again due to Waitrose and Somerfield for allowing the Lions to collect outside their Okehampton stores.
