STAFF at Somerfield supermarket in Tavistock have been getting on their bikes for charity to support the Association of Children?s Hospices. Grocery manager Tom Grindley and divisional executive Neil Forbes completed the 234-mile ride around all the Somerfield stores in Devon and Cornwall as part of a company fundraising effort. Store manager Alan Feakins together with staff members Graham Gallway and Paul Tilsley cycled parts of the route, and sales assistants rode the same distance on an exercise bike in the store. The challenge started in Helston and finished in Kingsbridge. Cash was donated by customers in the store and in Tavistock £585 was raised ? throughout the year more than £2,000 has been raised for the ACH. Countrywide the company has donated more than £2-million to the charity.
