I READ that Tavistock Town Council is planning to cut expenditure on path maintenance, play park equipment and project matched funding while spending even more money on the Drake Road offices.
The council tax payers are having to accept the precept doubling every eight years in exchange for reduced services and the dubious benefit of the ever-increasing maintenance costs for an under-utilised listed building of little benefit to the people of Tavistock.
Isn?t it about time we stopped preserving ?white elephants? and concentrated on present and the future community needs?
