Okehampton Argyle 2nds 4

Feniton 2nds 3 (aet)

A DIFFERENT Feniton line-up from their early defeat of the season offered a sterner challenge to Okehampton.

Feniton looked sharp in the early stages and took the lead from a corner.

Okehampton turned the pressure around and dominated up to the break. From a fine through-ball from Dean Garrett, Steve Williams outpaced the defence and rounded the keeper to level at half-time.

The second half saw the visitors go 2-1 up from a shot from the edge of the box. They extended their lead against the run of play with the striker getting a lucky deflection inside the box.

Roger Voaden came on for Ian Reddington and Stuart Cann for Daniel Johnston and Okehampton forced many corners. When Ian Wilson met Dean Garrett's pin-point corner with a close range header Feniton were rocking.

Steve Williams ran his socks off and from his left wing cross Jason Sandford slid home to force extra time.

Okehampton dominated again with the slope and Steve Williams chased a no-hope ball right up to the keeper who panicked — his miss-kick fell nicely and Williams tucked away what was to be the winner.

Feniton pushed in the dying minutes but Okehampton's defence held on for a deserved win.

This Saturday home to South Zeal, 3pm kick-off, Simmons Park.
