A TEAM of women, Gibby's Girls, walked a seven-mile route in the middle of the night in memory of a loved one recently, raising more than a thousand pounds for charity.
Gibby's Girls — Tina Gibbs, Suzanne Greep, Karole Champion, Kathy Lloyd-Brimble, Jan Hopkins, Karen Stephenson and Jo Guilor — took part in the recent St Luke's Hospice Midnight Walk from Plymouth Argyle Football Club to the George at Roborough, and back again.
The team participated in the walk in memory of Tina's husband, Martin Gibbs, the managing director of Mansbridge and Balment in Tavistock, who died at St Luke's Hospice in April.
Tina said: 'We have raised nearly £1,300 for the hospice — thank you to everyone who sponsored us. The walk was in memory of Martin and we hope to make it an annual event, walking 13 miles next year.'
