NON-STOP aerobics in Tavistock in aid of the British Heart Foundation raised £1,263.07 for the charity.

The two-hour session was held in King?s in May, with 24 ladies taking part. It was led by Jenny Schliffke, who regularly holds classes at King?s.

The idea was to raise awareness that exercise is good for you and to raise funds for the local branch of the British Heart Foundation.

Five 15-minute walks each week will benefit everyone greatly, a spokesperson said.

The Tavistock branch regularly gives cardiac equipment to the local hospital and GPs and more recently donated a defibrillator to the Tavistock section of Dartmoor Rescue Group. Other such presentations are n the pipeline.

The branch is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and has many events to look forward to.
