THE scoreline depicted a closer match than it actually was as Mary Tavy had few problems overcoming a weak Boscastle side.

But the final result indicated the growing problem Mary Tavy seem to be suffering - a severe leakage of weak goals. With 18 being scored in their last four matches they have conceded 13 but have seen the results as three won and one drawn match.

It did not help this week with all three goalkeepers unavailable and young Ben Stephens standing in. But he put in a solid performance.

Alan Grylls added two more to his season?s total and captain Nick John finished off a slick move to put his mark on the board.

Boscastle pulled one back in between and with the linesman waving frantically reduced the arrears to 3-2.

James Philpott, the Zorro of the left wing, made it safe with a clinical finish but really the game should have been out of Boscastle?s reach long beforehand.
