A GROUP which helps people with mental health problems is about to embark on a high flying charity challenge and establish an allotment project.

Step, the Devon specialist team for early psychosis, and their friends from the Cornwall early intervention team, which jointly form the Across the Boundaries group, will be doing a sponsored tree jump at the recently opened Tree Surfers at Gulworthy next Wednesday (October 7.)

The jump will be carried out by members, friends and relatives. The aim is to raise money for further therapeutic activities, including supporting links with other agencies.

An exciting new allotment project is also taking shape at Calstock which has been enabled by recent links with Tamar Grow Local.

This is very much in its infancy and the group would like to hear from people who may wish to donate any useful equipment or make a financial contribution.

The aims of Across the Boundaries are to focus on peer support through therapeutic activities and psycho-education. It is unique in that it links both Devon and Cornwall clients, with each county having a different service provider.

The group creates an environment in which individuals feel safe and supported in trying new things, expressing their individuality and sharing their experiences.
