A CHARITY Christmas treasure hunt will take place on Saturday December 11 to raise money to help sick children across the UK.

What makes this different to your run-of-the-mill treasure hunt is that you will need your running shoes on to take part.

Prizes are awarded for the first team home with all the correct answers, as well as the best Christmas fancy dress.

The event has been organised by local woman Leanne Rice, who will be running the London Marathon next year — don't worry though, you don't have to keep up with Leanne and the race is open to all abilities.

The treasure hunt will determine how much of Okehampton you really know, although you should be able to smell your way back to the finish at Heavenly Beauty Salon on Fore Street, where mulled wine and mince-pies will be available to warm the finishers.

All proceeds from the event go to WellChild, a charity which helps sick children and their families across the UK.
