Cornwood v Whitchurch
A BELOW-PAR Whitchurch lost by 7 wickets to Cornwood in the latest round of league matches.
Cornwood outplayed Whitchurch in all departments, being set a meagre 125 to win. Cornwood paced their innings nicely, coming home with just over three overs to spare.
Mark Thompson top-scored with 44, well supported by Nick Gunn, 34 not out, and Carl Bradshaw 27. Darren Sambells, Richard Hall and Tom Stenning shared the Whitchurch wickets.
Whitchurch, having lost the toss, were asked to bat first but after scoring heavily off the first two overs suffered a steady fall of wickets and were in considerable trouble at 58 for 5 after 12 overs.
Tom Stenning was the eventual saviour with 27 in partnership with various lower order batsmen, and took the total for 124 for 9 at the close.
Mark Thompson (1-9), Carl Bradshaw (3-14) and Nick Gunn (2-11) were the pick of the Cornwood bowlers. Tim Watson (Whitchurch) and Craig Follett (Cornwood) were fielders of the match.

Whitchurch Wayfarers v Ford Park
WHITCHURCH started their season with a comprehensive win. Whitchurch won the toss and elected to bowl first.
A superb spell of swing bowling from Hulbert and Daymond had Ford Park in trouble right away, reducing them to 4 for 6 runs.
A spirited stand by O'Gallagher and Johnson was ended by Hulbert, followed by wickets for Smith and Bradley which reduced Ford Park to 8 for 35 runs, before a resolute unbeaten partnership between Gudden and Whiting took the final score to 52.
Whitchurch openers Honey and Thomas batted aggressively, putting the bad ball away and running positively before Thomas fell lbw to Spear. Smith and Honey continued the positive approach, taking Whitchurch to victory with 9 overs to spare.
