Over 400 people from a very wide area packed St Eustachius Church to hear one of the finest choirs on this planet, culminating in a standing ovation, and I am hopeful that Tavistock will now be included in their 20th UK tour in 2011.
A very special thanks to the 15 families who kindly acted as hosts for the choir, without whose support, the concert would not have been possible; our mayor and councillor Sue Bailey, who gave the choir such a warm welcome in the town hall; all the staff at the Book Stop for helping to sell so many tickets; Nigel and Janet at the Pasty House, whose generosity was very much appreciated — they all loved their proper Devon pasties! — and all the other businesses in and around Tavistock who helped in advertising and promoting the concert.
All the choir members commented on our beautiful, friendly town, so watch this space for details of another wonderful concert in November 2011!
