EARLY years education in West Devon looks set to move from strength to strength this year, as Exbourne pre-school and parent toddler group celebrate after receiving a glowing report in a recent Ofsted inspection. The pre-school and toddler group has been operating for 20 years and the new Ofsted report shows that the setting has continued to improve over the years and move with the times. In their report, Ofsted inspectors said: 'The pre- school offers a safe and secure play environment and the children can access a wide range of resources. 'The staff plan an interesting range of activities that support children's progress and development. 'Sessions are well organised to create an inviting learning environment.' Pre-school play leaders, Nikki Kearley and Val Letheren, said: 'We are very proud of our pre- school and our achievements. We are glad that the Ofsted report reflected this. 'We are a small, friendly pre-school and are lucky enough to have sole use of our premises, which means we don't have to spend time packing away after each session and we also have a great outdoor play area.' Exbourne pre-school is early years funded and welcomes children from across the Okehampton area. Sessions, for children aged up to five, are held daily, along with the weekly parent toddler group that runs on Wednesday mornings. There are also twice weekly lunch clubs. To celebrate the good news in the Ofsted report, the pre-school is inviting parents and children to experience their services for free at the parent and toddler morning on Wednesdays. The sessions are held at Exbourne Methodist Chapel from 9.15am to 11.30am. For further information, contact Catherine East on 01837 851283.
