A YOUNG disabled woman walked five kilometres up and down hills at the recent Race for Life in Plymouth, raising hundreds of pounds for Cancer Research UK.

Twenty-three year old Stacey Barrett-Nicholls (pictured right) from Tavistock, who has Angelman Syndrome, took part in the Race for Life using her mayerwalker frame, with the help of a carer from her day centre in Ivybridge. She completed the five kilometres in one hour and 16 minutes.

Stacey raised £350 for the charity, and expressed thanks to all her family, friends and the staff and customers at Texaco Garage in Plymouth Road for helping her to raise so much money.
