NORTH Tawton played on a rough pitch but started steadily, having several chances in the first 20 minutes. Only Crediton?s keeper kept them out.
On the half hour Tawton were awarded a penalty which Dave Elles took, but he hit the right upright and from that Crediton attacked. Brave goalkeeping from Grimshaw kept it level.
Ten minutes before half-time a super goal from Sweb, struck from 25 yards, lobbed the keeper and went in off a defender. Two more quick goals came from Tony Fisher and Alex Green.
The second half started with good possession and most of the game played in Crediton?s half. It was not long before Tawton scored their fourth from a free kick by Graham Squires going through a three-man wall and under the keeper?s legs.
With Tawton in control substitutions were made and Bret and Dunster came on. Dunster?s first touch was a 30-yard strike clipping over the bar.
Crediton came forward but good defending from Squires, Shield, Simons and Keast did not give them any chances.
The fifth goal came with the ball being passed many times before Sweb hit home his second. Five minutes later Stuart Bragg caught the defence sleeping with a rocket shot.
