I READ with some surprise of Tavistock Town Council?s apparently wholly illogical decision not to allow Roger Young to hold a vehicle display in the Square on October 19 and 29.
Perhaps the council would like to answer the following questions ?
1) What, from a ?commercial? point of view, is the difference between Roger Young and any other trader such a Endsleigh and Rising Sun nurseries, who are allowed to trade on the Square?
2) How does the council define ?community?? Roger Young market a range of vehicles in wide rural usage, and in any case am I not right remembering that Honda cars were on display in the Square not so long ago?
Personally, I think the Square is a granite eyesore when empty but when busy with traders or funfairs is transformed into a positively attractive town centre.
So town council, why the apparently unfair decision?
