2312 Squadron from Tavistock competed with other cadet units from the Plymouth and Cornwall wing at Par athletic track in Cornwall picking up many medals during the event. Overall they came second pipped on points in the last relay races by Okehampton squadron.

'This was a fine achievement by both local squadrons over their Cornish rivals, who have always been strong in this annual event said Flt Lt Phil Newcombe, officer commanding 2312 Tavistock squadron.'

'The cadets worked well as a team encouraging all to achieve their personnal best. Several of the cadets will now represent the wing at the South West area athletics in June. 'This is just one of our many activities we undertake in the year,' added Flt Lt Newcombe. Our cadets are now commencing their kayak skills and their Duke of Edinburgh's award expeditions at all levels during the summer.

'We welcome all 13 -17 year olds to join our team. We meet on Tuesdays at the Crelake Cadet centre.'
