Torrington U14s 5 Tavistock U14s 60 IN the first phases of play Tavistock forwards kept possession, and it was quick handling along the back line that allowed Matt Robins a sprint down the touch line to score. In the next 10 minutes, great line out work by Matt Langman and Chris Melville supplied clean possession to the three quarters, and Miles Ross with outstanding pace, ran in two further tries. Tavistock won a scrum against the head and Carl Rowe burst through several tackles to score under the posts. For the rest of the first half Tavistock dominated with Josh Evans, Joe Elliot, and Henry Lisney mauling strongly. A 20 metre pass from scrum half Ollie Wheeldon sent Miles Ross on a run the length of the pitch to score. Quick handling and running by Will Glover and Dan Scott set up 2 further tries, with Miles Ross a personal tally of 5 tries. With all their substitutes on in the second half, Tavistock were able to demonstrate the depth of their squad. An attacking ruck 5 meters from the Torrington line, and Rees Byrne burst down the blindside to score. Matt Robins rounded off another Tavistock attack with a try of poise and pace. Sean Hill kicked 6 excellent conversions in difficult conditions. Torrington put pressure on Tavistock for a period of 15 minutes, and finally broke through for a well worked try.
