FREE activities for children and young people in West Devon are on offer this spring.
Since summer 2008, the borough council has been using its £200,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund to provide free activities for hundreds of children across West Devon.
This half term there are free fun-filled activities on offer in the Tavistock and Princetown area.
The Princetown Opportunity for Play (POP) project, from the Higher Moorland Community Action (HMCA) team, has four activities planned in Princetown, taking place either in or from the Village Centre.
Tuesday June 1: banner making, art and craft session from 1pm – 4 pm, (8-12 years); Wednesday June 2: climbing trip (10 -12 years); Thursday June 3: caving from 9.30 am – 4pm (11 to 13 years); and Friday June 4: football holiday camp from 10am – 3pm, (8-12 years).

The Tavistock Youth Café 'Playing Up' project also has three exciting activities on offer over the half term break.
Tuesday June 1: tree surfing (11-13 years); Wednesday June 2: trail hunting (8-11 years) for children from the Bere Alston area; and Friday June 4: tree surfing (11-13 years) for children from the Tavistock area.

Outside the holidays, throughout the summer term Okehampton Community Recreation Association is running the OCRA Action Club again in Chagford, Hatherleigh, Bridestowe, South Tawton, Boasley Cross, Northlew, Exbourne, Lewdown, Okehampton, North Tawton and Lydford.
Building on the success of last summer, the OCRA Action Club is an exciting after school club which invites children and young people to come along to join in the fun and FREE play for two hours after school.
The club offers children and young people the equipment and space to create their own free play and free choice in their local community.
