LEARNING how to make masks and how to coppice hazel in a managed woodland are the first two spring courses to be run by Proper Job of Chagford.

The course on February 12 is aimed at children and will involve making masks from kitchen materials. The session runs from 10am to 12 noon at Chagford Adult Education Centre and will cost £4.

On February 13 the coppicing course will show people how to maintain woodland and what tools are needed. Anyone interested in making their own hurdles will find this course particularly interesting.

The tutor is Mick Jones, a National Trust Estate Manager and the event will be held at the Killerton Estate near Exeter. The day runs from 10am to 4pm and costs £15.
