REPRESENTATIVES of the Ride the Ruby Country project recently enjoyed a successful South West Christmas Equine Fair in Exeter.
The project was represented with a stall informing visitors about horse riding opportunities in the Ruby Country and the routes being developed in conjunction with Devon County Council.
These include a new public bridleway linking Halwill and Cookworthy Forest, which opened in September. They shared the stall with Country Sports South West and the UK Horse Rider Guide, working with both organisations to promote equestrian activities in the area.
Ride the Ruby Country project co-ordinator Mark Betson said: 'There is a huge amount of interest in the great riding we have around Ruby Country and the business opportunities allied to this. Visitors are looking for places to stable their horses while they too are pampered in one of our many fine places to stay.
'They are also looking for other things to do and sample. There are lots of these opportunities in the Ruby Country. I am looking forward to promoting Ruby Country to a wider audience and helping make 2012 a year to remember all around.'
