YELVERTON stroke survivor Tom Goodison recently attended a parliamentary reception at the House of Commons, to launch The Stroke Association?s latest campaign entitled ?Getting back to work after stroke?. The campaign is based on a report produced jointly by the association and Different Strokes. Mr Goodison was one of thirty stroke survivors whose cases were followed as they tried to get back to work. One of the many findings was that more rehabilitation and emotional support services specifically targeted towards employment needs, would increase the chances for more stroke survivors to return to work. The reception at the end of June was attended by Health Minister Rosie Winterton, shadow Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley and St Ives MP Andrew George.
