THE plans for the new multi-million pound sports complex to be built in Simmons Park will be on display at Okehampton?s annual town assembly meeting next week.
Work on the Parklands Centre, which will include a new 25-metre swimming pool, competition sports hall, separate fitness and aerobics studios and new floodlit tennis courts, is due to begin this spring.
The annual assembly, which will be held in the Charter Hall on Monday March 31, will also provide an
opportunity for residents of Okehampton to question councillors on town issues and to learn more about the role of the town council.
Last week, town mayor Cllr Christine Marsh urged residents in Okehampton to stand up and be counted when it came to the forthcoming local elections ? the town assembly will provide an ideal opportunity for anyone considering standing as a councillor to find out more.
The Okehampton Town Assembly will begin at 7pm ? all are welcome.
